Upcoming State Land Timber Sales

Below is a list of current timber sales open for bids on state owned forest lands.


South Carolina Forestry Commission

Sand Hills State Forest

Sealed composite per- ton bids will be accepted until 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 by Sand Hills State Forest, US HWY 1, four miles south of Patrick, S.C. (16218 HWY 1 Patrick, SC 29584). Submitted bids should be in the form of one blended price per ton. This sale consists of approximately 238acres of planted and natural Longleaf and Loblolly pine. This sale is for approximately 4369 tons of pulpwood, 3040 tons of chip and saw, and 2276 tons of sawtimber. This sale consist of SFI and ATFS certified wood. The sale area is shown in the map and table provided.


Manchester State Forest

Sealed per ton bids will be accepted until 11:00 AM, November 13, 2017, by Manchester State Forest, 6740 Headquarters Road, Wedgefield, SC, for the sale of approximately 1,943 tons of pine pulpwood, 906 tons of pine chip-n-saw, and 1,241 tons of pine sawtimber on approximately 164 acres.

Palachucola 2017 Timber Re-Sale - The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) will accept sealed, per product, per ton bids until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Webb Wildlife Center office, located approximately three miles west of Garnett, SC on secondary road 20 (Augusta Stagecoach Rd) in Hampton County. Bids should be submitted based on separate per ton prices for PINE sawtimber, chip-n-saw, and pulpwood and a per ton price for HARDWOOD pulpwood. Bid prices will be applied to estimated volumes in determining the bid winner.
Bids should be clearly marked “SCDNR - Palachucola 2017 Timber Sale”. Bids may be hand delivered or mailed to April Graves, Wildlife Biologist, Webb Wildlife Center, 1282 Webb Ave, Garnett, SC 29922. NO VERBAL, FAXED, OR E-MAILED BIDS ACCEPTED. Mailed bids should be received by COB on September 27, 2017. Bids will be opened publicly at the Webb Wildlife Center Office on September 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.


Bonneau Ferry Wildlife Management Area - Berkeley County, South Carolina
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) will accept sealed, per ton bids until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Dennis Wildlife Center office, located at 305 Black Oak Road, Bonneau, SC in Berkeley County.

Lieber Correctional Institution - Ridgeville, SC

Per unit, sealed bids will be accepted for approximately sixty-two (62) acres of timber consisting of approximately 2731 tons of pine predominately pulpwood and approximately 1051 tons of mixed hardwoods, surrounding the Institutional security fence of Lieber Correctional Institution. The sale area is  located at the South Carolina Department of Corrections, Lieber Correctional Institution, 136 Wilborn Avenue, Ridgeville, SC 29472 in Dorchester County on Road 630 near the town of Ridgeville, South Carolina. The sale area is to be clear cut with nothing remaining standing. Bids in the form of $ ___ per ton for each product advertised, prior to the bid opening at 10:00 a.m. January 15, 2018.

Givhans Ferry State Park

Givhans State Park, 746 Givhans Ferry Road, Ridgeville, SC 29472 Dorchester County. SUBMIT OFFER BY (Opening Date/Time):   08/15/2017  3:00 PM  
The Sale area consists of approximately 470 acres of mixed longleaf and loblolly pine to be thinned and all associated logging debris ground/dirty-chipped/fuel-chipped and removed from the property. 
This is a blended sale. Timber estimates within this 470 acre tract include: 20,763 total tons of predominantly pine chip-n-saw and sawtimber along with some hardwood pulpwood. This is an operator selection thinning of the stand to a residual basal area of ~70 square feet of pines per acre. Additionally all logging slash and debris, including tree-tops, limbs, butt-cuts, and other debris and by-products must be ground/dirty-chipped/fuel-chipped and removed from the property as part of this blended sale.
