Records Management Training
We work with state agencies and local governments to ensure the proper management of South Carolina's public records, and to identify and protect those of historical value. We provide training and advisory services to state and local government offices and conduct training classes.  Classes are held at the SC Archives and History Center or upon request on-site at state agencies and local governments.  Our staff can make presentations at seminars and conferences during the year.  Contact Records Services staff to schedule your training.

The Records Services staff has developed an on-line Introductory Quiz to Records Management - test your knowledge today!

Electronic Records Training
With grant funding from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, we conducted in 2002 and 2003 a training and awareness program in Electronic Records.
Six workshops and three conference presentations were made to a wide audience.  The SC Archives has developed three audio narrated PowerPoint presentations based upon the six workshops.  They are:

We have also developed an audio-narrated presentation on electronic records filing and disposition.  Check it out!

Other Training Opportunities
Several professional associations in South Carolina hold conferences and workshops during the year.  The Department works closely with and supports the work of these organizations:

Check their websites for announcements of conferences.  You need not be a member of these organizations to attend.
