The South Carolina African American Historical and Genealogical Society meets every third Saturday, September through April, at 9:00 a.m. at the Richland County Public Library, located at 1431 Assembly Street in Columbia. The South Carolina Genealogical Society, Inc. (SCGS) is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide helpful information to researchers and holds an annual summer workshop.
