
Anne Gilliland-Swetland is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Studies of the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA. Prior to that she was the Director of SourceLINK, Historical Center for the Health Sciences, University of Michigan, 1993-1995; Associate Archivist, Bentley Historical Library, University of Michigan, 1991-1992; and Archivist and Records Specialist, University of Cincinnati, 1985-1990. She holds a Ph.D. (University of Michigan); C.A.S. and M.S. (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign); and an M.A. (Trinity College, University of Dublin).
She is the author of numerous publications on electronic records management, the design and evaluation of information systems containing primary sources, and archival education. Anne Gilliland-Swetland is a fellow of the Society of American Archivists (SAA), and is a recipient of the SAA C.F.W. Coker Award (1998) and the MAC Margaret Cross Norton Award (1997).
