Woody Randall and Bruce Rippeteau, immediate-past Chairman and immediate-past President as well as joint founders of the Celebrate Freedom organization, recently toured the museum's exhibit on World War I, "Forgotten Stories: South Carolina Fights the Great War."
This exhibit offers a unique perspective on the World War I military experience and uncovers forgotten South Carolina aspects of the war. These include the African-American 371st regiment, women in the war, and military technology. The exhibit offers several interactive elements, such as kiosks and a simulated trench. “Forgotten Stories” is open through December 6, 2009.
