Citizens are encouraged to learn about cyber security and to put their knowledge into practice in their homes, schools, workplaces and businesses. Awareness will improve the security of South Carolina’s information infrastructure and economy.

Working in collaboration with the Federal government and Homeland Security along with county partners, the Division of the State Chief Information Officer (CIO) will be sponsoring Cyber Security Awareness Month during October 2006. The mission for this month will be to raise awareness of cyber security so that users improve their cyber security preparedness.

The Cyber Security Awareness Month campaign will feature educational programs, events and initiatives throughout October targeting home users, small businesses, education audiences (K–12 and higher education) and child safety online. CIO staff invite you to participate in the Cyber Security Awareness Month programs.
