Description of Duties: See Class Specification - AH50.

Other Specific Duties:

DIRECTS THE DAILY EMERGENCY RESPONSE ACTIVITIES FOR THE STATE URBAN SEARCH    
AND RESCUE (US & R) SC TASK FORCE ONE TEAM AND THE RESPONSE CAPABILITIES FOR  
THE FIREFIGHTER MOBILIZATION.  DEVELOPS PROGRAM POLICIES AND OPERATIONAL      
PROCEDURES FOR THE US & R TEAM AND FIREFIGHTER MOBILIZATION.  DEVELOPS AND    
RECOMMENDS LONG RANGE PLANS AND DIRECTIONS TO THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR/STATE       
FIRE MARSHAL.  RESPONSIBLE FOR AND COORDINATES THE STATEWIDE HOMELAND SECURITY
GRANTS FOR STATE AND LOCAL FIRE SERVICE ASSOCIATED WITH EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND
RELATED DISCIPLINES. DISBURSES MONIES TO STATE AND LOCAL FIRE SERVICE         
ENTITIES AND IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR DISBURSEMENT AND RESPONSIBLE FOR AUDITING THE 
EXPENDITURES AND ASSETS.  MANAGES THE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR THE STATEWIDE US & 
R TEAM THROUGH THE SC EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DIVISION (EMD) TO INCLUDE ON-GOING 
TRAINING AND PREPAREDNESS EXERCISES FOR NATURAL DISASTERS, TERRORISM, AND     
WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.  SUPEVISES STAFF AND ASSESSES STAFF NEEDS.       
OVERSEES FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT PRACTICES FOR THE US&R TEAM AND FIREFIGHTER     
MOBILIZATION.                                                                 

State of South Carolina Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:
(NOTE: ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS MAY BE APPLICABLE FOR INDIVIDUAL POSITIONS IN THE EMPLOYING AGENCY.)

A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.

Additional Requirements:

A BACHELOR'S DEGREE AND SIX (6) YEARS OF RELEVANT PROGRAM EXPERIENCE OR       
ANY EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE.  THOROUGH   
KNOWLEDGE OF THE FEMA URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE PROGRAM ALONG WITH TECHNICAL    
RESCUE PROGRAM KNOWLEDGE.  KNOWLEDGE OF EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER FUNCTIONS.
ABILITY TO MANAGE AND PROVIDE GUIDANCE TO STAFF MEMBERS.  ABILITY TO          
COMMUNICATE IN A CLEAR AND CONCISE MANNER.  ABILITY TO PREPARE REPORTS AND    
PRESENTATIONS.  ABILITY TO EXERCISE JUDGMENT AND DISCRETION.  MUST BE ABLE TO 
DEVELOP, REVIEW AND MANAGE GRANT APPLICATIONS AND REQUESTS.  MUST HAVE A SOUTH
CAROLINA DRIVER'S LICENSE AND BE ABLE TO DRIVE A STATE VEHICLE.  MAY BE       
REQUIRED TO WORK OVERTIME, HOLIDAYS AND/OR WEEKENDS.  OVERNIGHT TRAVEL MAY BE 
REQUIRED.
