South Carolina State Government Application for Employment

* The South Carolina State Government employment application is available in two formats: Microsoft Word (*.doc file) and Adobe Acrobat (*.pdf file). Both the Adobe Acrobat Reader, and the Microsoft Word Viewer are free to download to your PC. Please see the download and installation procedures listed below.

Note: All pages must be filled in correctly, please be sure to print out all five pages. If you choose to open the Microsoft Word version in your browser, you can fill out the application online then either save it to a file or print the application. It is a good idea to retain a permanent copy for your records. You can also fill in the Adobe PDF version online and print the form. Please keep in mind that if you "refresh", close, or move to another page while in the process of filling in the Adobe form, your information will not be saved.

With this change, some agencies will allow the submission of the application via email for certain jobs. You can attach the completed file to your e-mail and it will be handled like a FAX, that is, if you are called in for an interview, we will have you sign the application then. To see if you can apply for a job via e-mail check the on-line job posting. If an e-mail address appears on the on-line posting, then you can send e-mail to that address applying for the position. Only e-mails with attached applications in Word 95 or higher will be accepted.

Be absolutely sure that the return address on your email is the one through which you you wish to be contacted in the event there is a problem with reading your application. Due to the nature of Internet e-mail, the State of South Carolina cannot guarantee the correct reception of an e-mailed application form. We will attempt to contact by reply e-mail applicants who have an unreadable Word attachment.
