Upcoming State Land Timber Sales

Below is a list of current timber sales open for bids on state owned forest lands.

 

South Carolina Forestry Commission

Sand Hills State Forest

SHSF-3990-ADV-TS-18
Sealed lump-sum bids will be accepted until 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 22, 2018 by Sand Hills State Forest, US HWY 1, four miles south of Patrick, S.C. (16218 HWY 1 Patrick, SC 29584). This sale consists of approximately 403 acres of natural and planted Longleaf and Loblolly pine. Lump-sum bids are for approximately 1851tons of pine sawtimber, 3042 tons of chip-n-saw, 5991 tons of pine pulpwood. This sale consist of SFI and ATFS certified wood. This sale also has several stands that contain pole quality trees, estimated to be an average of four (4) percent. The sale areas are shown in the maps and table provided.  All bids are to be in a sealed envelope mailed, hand delivered, or emailed.

 

Manchester State Forest

Sealed lump sum bids will be accepted until 11 AM, April 23, 2018, by Manchester State Forest, 6740 Headquarters Road, Wedgefield, SC, for the sale of approximately 4,203 tons of pine pulpwood, 2,784 tons of pine chip-n-saw, 6,948 tons of pine sawtimber, and 180 tons hardwood sawtimber on approximately 204 acres.  Bids will be accepted in person or by email to bkendall@scfc.gov.

 

MSF 586 ADV PS 18 PINESTRAW SALE
The SC Forestry Commission, Manchester State Forest, 6740 Headquarters Road, Wedgefield, SC 29168 will accept sealed bids on the attached bid form until 11:00 AM,  Monday February 12, 2018 for the sale of  approximately 1,291 acres of longleaf pinestraw.  The sale areas consist of 13 separate lots.

Department of Natural Resources

Angelus WMA - Chesterfield County
Bids will be accepted until 11:00 a.m. on March 21, 2018 at SCDNR Headquarters, 1000 Assembly Street, Columbia, SC – Room 202.
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) will accept sealed, blended, per ton bids (IE one per ton price) for the sale of approximately 1,250 tons of fuel chips to be selectively thinned from approximately 54 acres of planted longleaf pine, planted in 2001.

Wateree Farming site Sumter County
Bid Opening April 23 2018 10:00 am. Sealed bid cost per ton per unit will be accepted until 10:00 AM April 23, 2018 by the South Ccarolina Department of Corrections for the sale of approximately 50 acres 40% Hard wood mix to be clear cut. The sale area is part of the SCDC Farming operation and is not located on the property where the Institution sits. The sale area is indicated on the attached map, located on the North and South sides of Claremont Lane S-43-346, in the Stateburg community Sumter County.


Tyger River Correctional Institution - South Carolina Department of Correction,Tyger River Correctional Institution Enoree, SC
Bid open 10:00 a.m. – March 5, 2018 Per unit sealed bids are being accepted for the sale of approximately 40 acres of timber surrounding the Tyger River Correctional Institution; located at 100 Prison Road, Enoree, SC 29335. The sale timber is comprised of pine (pulpwood & saw timber) and Hardwood (pulpwood & saw timber) ~ 2,000 total tons. The sale timber is to be clear cut with nothing remaining standing.

 

Lieber Correctional Institution - South Carolina Department of Correction, Lieber Correctional Institution Ridgeville, SC
Bid open 10:00 a.m. Feb. 26, 2018 Per unit, sealed bids will be accepted for approximately sixty-two (62) acres of land surrounding the Institutional security fence of Lieber Correctional Institution; located at the South Carolina Department of Corrections, Lieber Correctional Institution, 136 Wilborn Avenue, Ridgeville, SC 29472 in Dorchester County on Road 630 near the town of Ridgeville, South Carolina The sale area is comprised of pine (pulpwood, chip n-saw & saw timber) ~ 4,200 total tons. The acres are to be clear cut with nothing remaining standing.
