Below is a list of current timber sales open for bids on state owned forest lands.

South Carolina Forestry Commission

Sand Hills State Forest

SHSF 3606 ADV TS 16
Sealed composite per- ton bids will be accepted until 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 by Sand Hills State Forest, US HWY 1, four miles south of Patrick, S.C. (16218 HWY 1 Patrick, SC 29584). Submitted bids should be in the form of one blended price per ton. This sale consists of approximately 77 acres of planted Loblolly pine. This sale is for approximately 2160 tons of mostly pulpwood-sized pine. This sale consist of SFI and ATFS certified wood.

 

Manchester State Forest

MSF 572 ADV TS 16
Sealed per ton bids will be accepted until 11:00 AM, February 22, 2016, by Manchester State Forest, 6740 Headquarters Road, Wedgefield, SC, for the sale of approximately 2,285.2 tons of pine pulpwood, 996.8 tons of pine chip-n-saw, and 369.6 tons of pine sawtimber on approximately 154 acres. Sealed per ton bids will be accepted until 11:00 AM, February 01, 2016, by Manchester State Forest, 6740 Headquarters Road, Wedgefield, SC, for the sale of approximately 2,588.0 tons of pine pulpwood, 1,936.7 tons of pine chip-n-saw, and 1,460.7 tons of pine sawtimber on approximately 229 acres. Edisto River WMA Sale
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) will accept sealed, per ton bids for the sale of approximately 6,615 tons of pine pulpwood to be selectively thinned from approximately 147 acres of planted loblolly pine. Bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on February 25, 2016 at SCDNR Headquarters, 1000 Assembly Street, Columbia, SC Room 202, at which time the bids will be publicly opened.

Bear Branch HP Timber Sale
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) will accept sealed, blended, per ton bids (IE one per ton price) for the sale of approximately 950 tons of fuel chips and 600 tons of pine pulpwood to be selectively thinned from approximately 45 acres of mixed pine and upland hardwoods. Bids will be accepted until 11:00 a.m. on February 25, 2016 at SCDNR Headquarters, 1000 Assembly Street, Columbia, SC Room 202, at which time the bids will be publicly opened.

Hamilton Ridge Wildlife Management Area Hampton County

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) will accept sealed, per ton bids until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2015 at the Webb Wildlife Center office, located approximately three miles west of Garnett, SC on secondary road 20 (Augusta Stagecoach Rd) in Hampton County. Sale Description and Harvesting Regimes/Methods This sale is comprised of Silvicultural Clearcutting over 431.8 acres, Thinning-from-Below of 19.7 acres, and Road Daylighting of approximately 8.5 miles.

Palachucola Wildlife Management Area  Hampton/Jasper County, SC  sealed, per product, per ton bids until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2015.

This is a marked-to-cut 2nd Thinning of approximately 540 acres of planted loblolly pine. Removals will include all trees marked with blue paint at eye level, including an estimated 118 tons of pine poles, 2365 tons of pine sawtimber, 898 tons of pine chip-n-saw, 15379 tons of pine pulpwood, and 940 tons of hardwood pulpwood. Some additional volume will be derived from smaller clearcut areas associated with the creation of a 6-acre wildlife opening and the widening of other existing openings as indicated on the attached sale map.  The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) will accept sealed, per product, per ton bids until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Webb Wildlife Center office, located approximately three miles west of Garnett, SC on secondary road 20 (Augusta Stagecoach Rd) in Hampton County.

Hamilton Ridge / Web Wildlife Center :

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) will accept sealed, per ton bids until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Webb Wildlife Center office, located approximately three miles west of Garnett, SC on secondary road 20 (Augusta Stagecoach Rd) in Hampton County.
This sale is comprised of multiple harvesting regimes over 966 total acres, including: 185 acres of clearcut, 392 acres of operator-select 3rd-row thinning to a residual basal area of 60 sq. ft., and 389 acres of operator-select 4th-row thinning to a residual basal area of 70 sq. ft.

Tom Yawkey Wildlife Center:
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) will accept sealed, per ton bids for the sale of approximately 202 tons of pine pulpwood and 1,513 tons of blended pine sawtimber to be selectively thinned from approximately 59 acres of natural longleaf pine on The Tom Yawkey Wildlife Center located in Georgetown County, South Carolina. Bids will be accepted until 11:00 a.m. on September 16, 2015.

 

McBee Wildlife Management Area

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) will accept sealed, per ton bids for the sale of approximately 7,720 tons of pine pulpwood to be selectively thinned from approximately 193 acres of planted loblolly pine located on the  McBee Wildlife Management Area Chesterfield County, South Carolina.  Bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on September 16, 2015.

SC Parks, Recreation, and Tourism

Hampton Plantation State Historic Site in Charleston Co. :

The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism is taking bids for a sale of timber at Hampton Plantation State Historic Site in Charleston Co. This is an operator selection thinning of the stand to a basal area of 70 square feet per acre. Timber removals estimated within this 76 acre tract include approximately: 3496 total ton; 760 tons of pine pulp, 1064 tons of pine chip-n-saw, and 1672 tons of pine saw timber. Additionally all logging slash and debris, including tree-tops, limbs, butt-cuts, and other debris and by-products must be ground/dirty-chipped/fuel-chipped and removed from the property as part of this blended sale.
