The SCFC offers free Courtesy Exams to help landowners, loggers, and other forestry professionals protect water quality through the proper use of Best Management Practices. Results of these exams are reported each month. Regulatory agencies and forest industry use this report as a record of BMP performance, and may take corrective action when compliance problems cannot be corrected. This report also documents a history of compliance for those that properly apply BMPs.
Note that the operator is listed as a means of identifying the site, and not as assignment of fault for any BMP discrepancies. Although the logger is listed for timber harvests on the monthly report, they may or may not be the responsible party when problems are identified.
