NEW OFFICER ASSIGNED TO STATE FOREST
(Columbia, SC) -- A new officer is now patrolling on Sand Hills State Forest. Officer Matthew Crow assumed law enforcement duties on the 46,000 acre forest last week.
An eight-year law enforcement veteran, Crow joined the Forestry Commission in October. He had previously served with the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office.
Crow will work a flexible schedule, providing an after-hours law enforcement presence on the forest. In addition to enforcing State Forest regulations, he will provide an added measure of assistance and security to forest users.
For information on the forest and its regulations, contact Sand Hills State Forest headquarters at 843-498-6478 or visit the Forestry Commission web site at www.state.sc.us/forest/refshill.htm.
