KERSHAW FORESTRY OFFICER GRADUATES FROM POLICE ACADEMY Glenn Davis being sworn in.

(Columbia, SC) -- A Kershaw County officer has just completed training at the SC Criminal Justice Academy. Forestry Commission officer Glenn Davis, Jr., graduated last week from the grueling nine-week basic law enforcement course.

Davis is the Forestry Commission’s firefighting supervisor for Kershaw and Lee counties. A veteran forest firefighter, Davis will now add forest law enforcement to his fire protection duties.

While at the Academy, Officer Davis received practical instruction in firearms, pursuit driving, defensive tactics, and physical fitness. Academic training included criminal law, search and seizure, and arrest procedures.

Davis is one of nearly 40 forest law enforcement officers statewide. For more information on the Forestry Commission’s law enforcement program, citizens may call 803-896-8820.
