(Columbia, SC) -Forestry Commission officials today announced that Wee Tee State Forest is closed, effective immediately.

Officials say forest road construction coupled with heavy rainfall have temporarily rendered roads unsafe for public use.

Wee Tee State Forest is a popular public fishing spot in Williamsburg County.

The forest is scheduled to reopen on June 26.
