South Carolina Department of Mental Health

S.C. Department of Mental Health Speakers Bureau

The Speakers Bureau is a free service made available to groups and organizations throughout the state. The purpose of this service is to increase public awareness and enhance community education related to services and programs available through the mental health service delivery system in South Carolina. It also provides mental health system advocates and consumers a structure through which to share their message with the public.

Speakers available through this bureau represent a number of areas of professional expertise. They may be staff members of the Department of Mental Health, volunteers, members of advocacy groups, or consumers.

Topics include:

  • Stress Reduction
  • Alzheimer's Disease
  • Alcohol and Drug Abuse
  • Children and Depression
  • Client Advocacy/Patient Rights
  • History of S.C. State Hospital.
  • Other topics may be available upon request

The Department takes pride in making this service available to the citizens of South Carolina. Civic clubs, church groups, schools, and other organizations are encouraged to contact us to schedule someone to speak to your group.
