Abbeville

May 4 - Beckman Center for Mental Health Services' Abbeville Clinic will host a Recovery Drop-In. Clinic Staff, Board Members, and the Client Advisory Board invite patients, stakeholders, and other community partners to celebrate recovery! See the Abbeville flyer for details and to RSVP. Aiken and Barnwell

Month-long - Are you a member of a faith-based organization? Pick up FREE bulletin inserts! Contact Tamara Smith at (803) 508-7862 for more information.

Month-long -Take part in the pinwheel project! The Aiken-Barnwell Mental Health Center will flock its facilities with pinwheels to commemorate mental health and RECOVERY. Purchase a pinwheel for $1.00 in memory or honor of someone working on their mental health recovery. All funds raised will go to the Indigent Transportation Fund, which helps pay for patient transportation to and from mental health appointments. Call (803) 508-7862 to learn more.

Cayce

May 6 - The SC Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is holding a safeTALK training. safeTalk prepares anyone over the age of 15 to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. Most people with thoughts of suicide invite help to stay safe. Alert helpers know how to use these opportunities to support that desire for safety. There is a fee of $10 to cover materials. May 21 - Have you been looking for a race to run/walk to support a great cause? This is the race for you! Join the Trident Health Mental Health Awareness 5k Fun Run/Walk May 21. 100% of the proceeds for this race go to support Mental Health Heroes. 5K Registration Form

May 27- June 12 - The Art of Recovery at Piccolo Spoleto. View an uplifting exhibit of artwork at Circular Congregational Church, 150 Meeting Street in Charleston. Free and open to the public.

Chesterfield

Columbia

May 4 - The Federation of Families of SC will be holding its annual Children's Mental Health Awareness Day Rally at the Capitol (North steps) at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 4th to raise awareness around the importance of children's mental health. Columbia flyer

May 7 - NAMI Mid-Carolina's Minds on Main will be a parade & block party on Main Street in Columbia will begin 10:00 am at Christ Church's Hope Plaza and finish at the corner of Main & Washington streets during the Soda City Market hours in historic downtown Columbia, SC. When we cross the parade finish line we will arrive at the Minds on Main block party, open to the public. Free and open to all; register here.
