Charleston/Dorchester Community Mental
Health Center Columbia, SC: Officials at the South Carolina Department of Mental Health (SCDMH) and the board of the Charleston/Dorchester Community Mental Health Center have named Deborah Shogry DiNovo executive director of the mental health center. She has been serving as the associate director of Adult Services at the Charleston/Dorchester Center. Ms. DiNovo has been employed with SCDMH since 1993. Ms. DiNovo received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston in 1981 and her master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from the Citadel in 1993. The South Carolina Department of Mental Health provides services through a network of 17 community mental health centers, two hospitals, and two nursing care centers. The SC Mental Health Commission is the governing body of the SC Department of Mental Health and has jurisdiction over the state’s 17 mental health centers, two hospitals, and two nursing care centers. Its seven members are appointed for five-year terms by the governor with advice and consent of the Senate. |
