Department of Mental Health Showcases Artwork
by People Who Have Mental Illnesses

Columbia, SC - To help celebrate May is Mental Health Month, the SC Department of Mental Health (DMH) is displaying artwork by people recovering from mental and emotional disorders.

On May 20, at 10 a.m., Round Four of the Art of Recovery project will officially open at the SCDMH Administration Building, 2414 Bull Street, Columbia, in Room 323. All artists will be recognized. Artwork is also displayed in the Wachovia Gallery at the Richland County Public Library on Assembly Street until June 1.

The Art of  Recovery project was launched in 2001 to recognize that people with mental illnesses are as talented and diverse as the rest of the population.
