For Immediate Release Acton Named Director of Lexington County
Columbia, SC - Richard L. Acton, ACSW/LISW has been named director of Lexington County Community Mental Health Center. Acton, who previously was President and CEO of Tri*Star, a nonprofit, multi-county comprehensive community mental health/substance abuse and family service agency in Lima, OH, will assume this position in August. Acton earned a master's degree in social work from Ohio State University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH. He has over 16 years of executive experience in non-profit family service and community-based behavioral health. Lexington County Community Mental Health Center provides services to the citizens of Lexington County. Programs offered include adult and children's services, school-based services, family preservation, an assisted living program, and a consumer employment program. The South Carolina Department of Mental Health provides services through a network of 17 community mental health centers, five hospitals, and two nursing care centers. |
