Terry Appointed to SC Mental Health Commission
Columbia, SC: James Buxton Terry, of Columbia, SC, has been appointed to serve as a member of the South Carolina Mental Health Commission, representing the Second Congressional District.
Mr. Terry is a retired banking executive, with extensive experience in the management and leadership of a commercial banking operation.
He received his bachelor’s degree in economics and psychology from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. He serves on numerous boards and commissions throughout South Carolina.
The SC Mental Health Commission is the governing body of the SC Department of Mental Health and has jurisdiction over the state’s 17 mental health centers, two hospitals, and two nursing care centers. Its seven members are appointed for five-year terms by the governor with advice and consent of the Senate.
