The Emergency Services division of LCCMHC provides a number of services which are provided within and beyond Center facilities. Clinic based services include triage, assessment and referral services, and a short term crisis stabilization program. We also provide services off site at the Lexington Medical Center and the Lexington County Detention Center.

TRIAGE
Triage handles most point of entry telephone and face to face contacts with potential clients for the Center. Triage directs callers to the most appropriate office within the Center or the community. Triage also provides quick aftercare appointments for people being discharged from local and DMH in-patient facilities.

ASSESSMENT AND REFERRAL
Initial clinical assessments are handled through this office in cases which are determined to be urgent, and clients are referred to the most clinically appropriate service.

HOSPITAL DIVERSION
Emergency Services sees patients being released from the emergency room to provide safety assessments and to engage them in receiving services. We are also charged with other programs geared toward keeping people out of DMH inpatient facilities.

PROBATE COURT CONSULTING
Emergency Services is the primary consulting agency between the Probate Court and citizens in matters of mental health and substance abuse by initializing detention orders and orders for judicial examinations.

24 HOUR ON CALL COVERAGE
Emergency Services provides on call coverage 24 hours a day and 7 days per week by telephone. In this capacity they answer calls from active clients and other citizens of Lexington County.

JAIL SERVICES
A mental health professional is on site 7 days per week at the Lexington County Detention Center.
