The South Carolina Department of Mental Health's William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute, is currently accepting applications to fill 4 Psychologist Internship positions for the year 2008.
SETTING & PHILOSOPHY
The South Carolina Department of Mental Health’s William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute (WSHPI) Internship Training Program, follows a local clinical-scientist model, where interns learn to apply empirically-based psychological practice in local, clinical settings (Stricker & Trierweiler, 1995). The primary goal of the internship is to attain proficiency in assessment, therapy, and consultation as a clinical psychologist via didactics and a broad range of clinical experiences with diverse populations.
CULTURAL DIVERSITY
The Internship is committed to a policy of engendering cultural diversity among faculty, interns, and patients served. We have an excellent record of recruiting interns from a variety of cultural backgrounds and our faculty reflects this commitment to diversity.
