It is hosted by Bob Seay who describes himself as "a K-12 music teacher who also works with the Gifted and Talented Education program in his school district. He was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder at the age of 33." The site contains advertising and there is no disclosure about possible conflicts of interest.

It lists and briefly describes general considerations and specific bio-psycho-social interventions. Has been used as an outline and handout for family education, as well as for education of mental health professionals.

Most disorders also include an on-line interview for diagnostic screening (for self-assessment or as an aid for a clinician).

This link contains some excellent clinical information regarding diagnosis and treatment of major psychiatric disorders, suitable for patients and families as well as clinicians. It is from a Federal agency (NIMH) and is relatively unbiased. However, some of the material is out of date (check the publication date at the bottom of each topic).

It includes borderline personality disorder, but also addresses post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and others. There are many helpful links in this site, including ones to various treatments, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). 

Treatment Guidelines

This site contains the "expert consensus" treatment guidelines for bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. These are very useful, but differ from the American Psychiatric Association's practice guidelines, which are more comprehensive (some of which are available on line at http://www.psych.org/psych_pract/treatg/pg/prac_guide.cfm. These "expert consensus" treatment guidelines have also been used in developing the Texas Medication Algorithm Project (TMAP) guidelines, which are on this site under"Medications."
