October 30, 2003 the South Carolina
Department of Mental Health showcased the artwork of SCDMH
Consumers. This marks
the fifth gallery opening of the SCDMH Art of Recovery
Project. Matt VanBuren was the first place winner
with his painting Solzhenitsyn. |

Like
the previous rounds of art, this gallery attracted skilled and
creative artist from many SCDMH programs. Kimberly Fuller
was the second place winner with Until Morning Comes.
Ms. Fuller also serves as the Consumer Affairs Coordinator, CAC for
Piedmont Center for Mental Health Services. |

| The colorful and beautiful pictures reflect the
breadth of skill and range of experiences of the individuals
who live with mental disorders. This project is
designed to put the spotlight on these individuals, and to
remind the public that consumers are much more than just a
diagnosis. |
