Staff Development and Training is also pleased to announce two (2) new E-Learning Workshops that will be added to the SCDJJ Website in January.
1. Diagnosis of Co-Occurring Disorders in Children and Adolescents
This training focuses on the co-occurring disorders of substance use and mental health disorders in childhood and adolescence. The curriculum is divided into eight modules. A short multiple choice/true false quiz must also be completed with 70% accuracy to receive 3 hrs. of training credit.
2. Conflict Management and Resolution
Conflict occurs when two or more people oppose one another because their needs, wants, goals, or values are different. Conflict is almost always accompanied by feelings of anger, frustration, hurt, anxiety, or fear. Resolving conflict is an important skill to use when working with others, and it is necessary to understand the root of the conflict before using strategies to fix it. Conflict is one of the best opportunities to strengthen working relationships. A short multiple choice/true false quiz must also be completed with 70% accuracy to receive 3 hrs. of training credit
In addition to the workshops offered on the calendar; the trainers can provide customized workshops for specific program areas, offices or divisions.Trainers will need at least a 30 day notification for planning and a minimum of 10 participants.
You can register for workshop(s) by e-mailing your requests to “TRAINING” on the GroupWise system
Please note that users of the latest version of Internet Explorer might encounter some problems accessing the courses (this is due to a security feature of the new version of Internet Explorer). If you see blank slides or don't see the course at all, just come back to this page and hold down your "Ctrl" key (located in the lower left and right-hand corner of your keyboard) when you click on the link to the course. This should bypass the security block and open up the course in a new "tab."
Alternately, you can also click on the yellow strip at the top of the course page and select "Allow ActiveX controls" or "Allow blocked content" to bypass this security feature.
